Mama's little beekeeper

Is a keeper! Don't we just love the pasta strainer? For journal keeping purposes, here's Max these days. First word: Granpa. But he'll also say MAAAAAAAAAAAahm. Mostly everything is a variation of DAh! or dah-dah. (it can mean dad, thankyou, all done, get down, this one; depends on where he stresses the dah.) Second word: the sign for refrigerator. Thank you baby einstein. Refrigerator. Loves that word. refrigerator. He loves to play trucks and will sit on the floor and make truck sounds. Loves the fisher price doll house and will mimic the sounds. He will sit and read books for hours which is great. His favorite toy is also grandpa. He loves when Grandpa comes. He will follow directions and loves to help. Likes dishes and helping me do laundry and clean windows. He is a sensitive little mama's boy. This morning he stuffed a whole pancake into his mouth and I said "Listen piglet, take it easy!" The girls started laughing and his eyes welled up with tears and h...

100 Days (of fish)

(before I write this post, how great was The Bachelor tonight?!) Here is Abbie's poster of 100 things to celebrate her 100 days of school. She water colored on poster board, glued the fish on, glued the fish eyes on, glammed it up with glitter, and happily took it to school. (I am quite sure she spent 100 hours on it. Could this be where she obtained her inspiration? Remember when this tank had 2 fish? Now I keep telling the girls if they let me take 11 back to the pet store I will buy them a frog. Anne is hoping for a wall of fish. You will notice several of the fish are pregnant. We are well on our way.

My Spa Experience

Brad insisted that I take advantage of the spa on the ship so we waited til the end of the week when the prices had been slashed desperately. I booked myself for a hot stone massage, aroma facial, collagen eye treatment, and oil scalp massage. It was dreamy. When it was over, the person working on me left and said I could take my time getting dressed and then help myself to the beverages. They had this new agey music playing and I might have fallen asleep a bit. When she comes back in to swipe my sail and sign card she presents me with a list of problems that she found with me. I listened patiently then left without buying anything but with a whole new complex. Here's the list. Upon Analysis (highlighted in yellow) 1. muscle tightness on neck and shoulders with presence of knots and nodules due to lactic acid build up. (I have really got to watch the lactics? they are bad.) 2. fluid retention on hips areas, thighs and abdomen. (fluid? nah, around these parts we call it fat.) 3. li...

Selebrity Spottings at Sea

One of my favorite games to play with myself is a celebrity look a like find. Brad tolerates it, but has to put his foot down when I start deleting pictures of the two of us in order to make room for my celebrity friends. Here's who was on the cruise with us. Tammy Faye at Sea Tammy Faye's son or lovah we couldn't tell, but we thought he looked like Sammy Hagar Darrell Hammond the Piano Man Liza Minelli with glasses (and a few appletinis) The Colonel from Rambo at sea All my exes live in Texas (and like to cruise) Stand and Deliver or Battlestar Galactica guy with 'stache. (imagine a non-animated picture below) Comic Book Guy. I tried all week to snag a picture of him, but no luck. Non-celebrity sightings just people that look like someone we know. Craig H. my friend Jessica's husband looks like the guy in yellow. This might be one that you had to see up close. I did see him up close, but that's another story. Up next...that was NOT relaxing.

Braggity McBraggerton

There is just no way to document my life this past few weeks without sounding braggy. So here goes. The biggest lesson I learned from our whole experience is HOLY CRAP we waited way to long to do something like this. We had a tremendous time and I loved every minute. (i especially loved reliving this cruise through pictures that I took and apparently we only posed in one direction. Whatever.) We played some golf. He won once and I won once. We went on a hike in the jungle to see petroglyphs then ate at a little cantina on the beach. Acapella in Acapulco. We went horseback riding on this totally empty beach near Ixtapa while dolphins frolicked. I. Know. We got dressed up and walked and laughed and laughed. Mucho this. Danced and danced. We ate about 38 ice cream cones. Lazed around at a beach in Manzanillo. Went to a banana plantation. Brad did this. I did this. (I read 4 books.) Requested Neil Diamond songs at the piano bar. (Brad wouldn't let me request Piano Man because he though...

Shout Out to My Sistah

Many of you may know my little sister Anne. There is a nine year difference in our ages, but I honestly don't remember a time when she wasn't my best friend. Since she is helping me out major while Brad and I are whooping it up on the sea, I thought I would tell ya'll why I likes me some Anne. See I put pretty pictures of her up. Most pictures I have of the 2 of us, either she has put up or they are really unflattering. Hi Jason. 1. She knows the funny. When she left for Russia I was in a pretty bad funk. Brad didn't know how to help me and I realized that I hadn't laughed much since she had been gone. Now that she's down the street I can laugh all the time. 2. She answers the phone like this. "yee-sh." I like it. 3. She is super generous. If she buys new clothes as she is wont to do, admire it because chances are she will be letting you borrow it until its like yours. (am I right Heidi, or am I right?) 4. She's a planner. She likes to have things ...

Do you know Groundhog Day with Celia Fae?

Because her Mo observations are genius. (her sisters are pretty great too) Please read this post . She kills me.

The LAAAAAAAAH-ve boat...

Fact-I am leaving my children for the first time for more than overnight. GAH! (wierd creepy predators that may be reading this? I am leaving them with my gun toting maverick style hyper-alarmed house, so step off) Fact-I have really really generous family and friends who will be taking care of them. Fact-The last 10 years have really gone by fast. Fact-I booked the cruise because I watched a lot of love boat when I was little and one of their stops was Acapulco. Fact-I never really understood how "doc". got all the ladies. He. was. so. creepy. Fact-It snowed a lot yesterday and I was giddy saying SUCK it! snow! Mexico! Fact-yesterday while I was doing a mountain of laundry Dr. Phil said my kids deserved to have parents who make time for themselves thus sucking the last bit of guilt left out of my body. (sad) Fact-my laptop died (attention Carl A.) and I can't find my charger for my camera so my blogging has greatly been hindered. I have over 300 items in my reader. Hope ...
