Count your many blessings day 18: Blurgh

I'm grateful the kids will be going to bed in less than an hour.

Done.

And yes, I am a day short with the ridiculous countdown.

Count your many blessings day 17: Commo Se Comma Sa

Are these blessings posts boring to anyone? Its a little sunshiney around these parts and I am not recognizing myself in these posts lately. I feel like I need to have a countdown of things that irritate me or things that I find stupid and useless.

Anyways.

Took the kids on an impromptu road trip last weekend. How delicious is this bunch?

they are probably happy because I promised them that we will NOT be going on a roadtrip to Lake Tahoe. In which case they look a little more like this:

At least the sunset was pretty for awhile?

(imagine me doing a Napolean YESSSS! for figuring out a way to work the Tahoe roadtrip pictures into the blog)

Count your many blessings day 16: An Apple a Pear a Cherry

I am not a huge lover of Christmas music pre-Thanksgiving. I just don't want all that cheer up in my business before it is necessary. (not judging or hating on anyone that does it. It just grates on me a bit.)

Enter snow and cold.

Not really Weezer, Jack Johnson or Vampire Weekend mood music is it?

My older lover Sting has released a new album that is perfect for when the hounds of winter are howling in the wind. Its different and not your typical Sting sound. If I had to describe it I would say its monkish. It took me a couple of rounds of listening before it grew on me, but now its definately a keeper. Its perfect cozy weather but not chippy Christmas winter music.

Enjoy. I'm off to go make pumpkin bread.

Count your many blessings day 15: My Presidency

Today I am grateful for the hard work of my presidency. I could not do anything without their work and support. Today, I wanted to cry in a corner when I was all alone without my 1st, 2nd, or either of my secretaries with all 100+ kids. I recruited some able and wonderful ladies to come and fill in but I mostly floundered and watched the clock. I need those ladies badly!

Count your many blessings day 14: Good TV

Do you Glee?

I also love Mad Men. It makes me want to chain smoke and make a martini.

Count your many blessings day 13: Cousins to play with

Max and Hazen (sheShun) get to hang out a lot lately. I love that are are friends! Max is a really bad influence on Hazen and makes him 50 times more naughty than he usually is, but at least they keep me on my toes.
Laughing at each other

Max showed Hazen how to turn the faucet around so the water would spray at your head. Way more fun that plain old drinking fountains.

Max dropping gravel on Hazen's head.

Count your many blessings: Day 12: Flatware Foresight

Last year I found a set of flatware that I loved at Costco. I really thought that one set would be sufficient but Brad scoffed and talked me into purchasing 2.

I couldn't possibly realized at that moment that my silver would be used for a race track.

Good thing we have a backup set to actually use for eating things.

Count your many blessings day 11: Create

Abbie working her origami and listening to Harry Potter book 3

"The desire to create is one of the deepest yearnings of the human soul. No matter our talents, education, backgrounds, or abilities, we each have an inherent wish to create something that did not exist before.

Everyone can create. You don’t need money, position, or influence in order to create something of substance or beauty." Dieter F. Uchtdorf, “Happiness, Your Heritage,” Ensign, Nov 2008, 117–20

Thanks Abbie, for always reminding me of this great principle.

Count your many blessings day 10: Letting Go

...and trusting Mother Karma will give the massive smackdown.

I have decided to give up in my search for the stroller because it is turning me into a paranoid, anxious, bitter person. In the last 10 days, I have picked mucho fights with the Mr., lied to the PTA to get an address, followed a person home, made the Mr. leave work early 3 times to follow the person home, ignored the needs of the kids because I was too busy checking someone's myspace, arranged a fake meeting for the stroller, asked about stalking laws, rolled my eyes when someone suggested I "use the car" to get where I needed to go, googled citizens arrest techniques, plotted, lied to the postal service....you get the idea.

I have decided to bid my stroller goodbye, think about all the good times, realize that I really did have the creme de la creme in strollers, save my money for a replacement, and use my super sleuthing skills for good rather than evil.

Like when I snuck into the faculty room at Abbie's school today to see if Abbie got an invite (read award) for Reflections tomorrow.

Spoiler Alert: Yes she did. Science Rocks.
