Try it, You'll like it!!

I have been counting down the days until lds.org switched to its new and improved look. They must have figured that if you are on the site you are either going to a. prepare a lesson or b. prepare a talk. Well I am doing one or the other at least 4 times a week... I have been using this beta version with no bugs and am so happy that all I have to type in nowadays is lds.org. Isn't life great? Try it, you'll like it-especially the snazzy search features.

BUSTED!!!

Sick

Like my new bracelet? There are many things I am VERY good at...Pregnancy ain't one of em. Baby's ok-mom's ok now...

GO RENT THIS NOW!!!

I am dying to talk to anyone about my new favorite movie. When was the last time you saw a movie that you could not stop thinking about because it was so powerful? I put this on my cue and waited patiently for it to move on up--I can't even send it back because I want the magic of this movie in my house. Talk about love in families! Tolerance! Sacrifice! Such a sweet movie..And isn't the main actor a dream?! I cried everytime he did--He was amazing. Plus I am so loving that name Zahra. Here's the scoop on it: Triumphant prizewinner at many prestigious film festivals, this uplifting, crowd-pleasing story of family and love was also nominated for an Academy Award(R) as Best Foreign Language Film. When Ali loses his sister Zahra's school shoes, this young pair dream up a plan to stay out of trouble: they'll share his shoes and keep it a secret from their parents! But if they're going to sucessfully cover their tracks, Ali and Zahra must carefully watch their step o...

Thrifty

So yesterday while I was laying on the couch I noticed something shiny in Amelia's mouth. I realized she had a nickel in her mouth and when I got up to get it from her, she immediately swallowed it then bit my fingers (all the while giggling of course). Today I have been giving her apple juice, raisins, and fruit snacks. No bananas. Brad wants to still spend that money. He is so thrifty. (By the way, he can spend it and do whatever, but I'm sure not going to get it for him)

How Am I feeling you ask?

Well I think my idol Michael Scott put it best in his "Booze Cruise" episode last year. Michael: "Captain Jack is a fart face"--throws up into a bag Rep: "Are you ok?" Michael: "Im on medication" Rep: "Really? What?" Michael: "Vomicillin" Vomicillin. I am on that medication too.

My Fellow Girlfriends Due in the Summer!

Isn't it funseys to have celebrity twin-er pregnancies! Here are the ladies that are in my club for summer 2007. By the way, went to the Dr. last week and there was a heartbeat---now we just need that heartbeat to stay....

Trying to fill daddy's shoes!

And we quit dance class because.....?

Abbie tap dancing to the lion sleeps tonight. All day long. Awesome. Any ideas on how I can post the video? It is pretty great.

Never too early to start....

I know all moms out there in blogland will give me a "oh yeah" that it is a universal fact that even if your kids ignore you all day long, about 10 minutes before dinner is on the table-it all breaks loose. In order to combat this annoying time, I have been giving the girls something "to cook". Here Amelia is washing the carrots and Abbie is peeling them. Abbie also makes a mean honey sandwich, toast, banana bread, fruit salad, and can assemble a lasagna.
Abbie had a field trip at school and she went to the pediatrician's office for the letter P. She was in the car with Ms. Nichole and passed my school. She yelled "That's where my mommy goes to work!" Ms. Nichole asked if I was a teacher. Abbie replied, "Yes, she teaches people to be like the prophet." Well, I will forever "BE grateful" for my Abbie Maude.

Do Vegetarians Eat Animal Crackers? Author Unknown

I am off to the grocery store before Amelia wakes up from her nap so here is the scoop for the week: Thursday: Chili and chips (I learned the name as something else, but its super racist--grandma..) Friday: Pizza with the Eyrings Saturday: Honey Chicken Nuggets (not the nasty frozen kind-I gotta use my processor!!, oven baked fries Sunday: Pork Spareribs, sweet potatoes Monday: Shrimp Scampi, spinach Tuesday: Puerto Rican Adobo Chicken, black beans, rice Wednesday: Stuffed Potatoes, salad

Snow Day On Saturday

Brad decided that he has been too unavailable to play on the weekends because of his other wife the basement is soooo demanding. He scheduled some time for this family and thought it would be a good time to play in the mountains. Confession time: I don't love playing in the snow. I don't love being cold. I don't love being wet. I don't love how sore you are after sledding. I don't love dragging the sled up hills. I had heard that there was a fabulous place at Soldier Hollow that is groomed, safe, they provide the tubes, and best of all THEY DRAG YOU UP THE HILL!! Amelia was too small to do it, so Brad switched off with me (well I only did it once because I am an old fat chicken) and Abbie and Brad had a ball. Amelia and I tolerated the snow, but my highlight was a toss up between having her fall asleep in my arms (she NEVER does that) while listening to Ben Harper being piped through the airwaves or sharing a hot chocolate by the lodge with Amelia or watching m...

I think I remember why shopping stinks

Since today is Friday I was feeling a little inspired to have some one on two time with the girls. Abbie's activity of choice is Wal*Mart and wandering up and down the aisles. Amelia tolerates it okay, but she gets really jazzed in the movie aisles. Abbie had some money leftover from Grandpa D. so we thought we would put it to good use. Since she is slightly obsessed with LPS she chose a the LPS game and seemed very excited about her purchase. Abbie has also been talking about Floam so I bought 2 tubs of the stuff hoping it will take the place of play-dough. Somewhere along the way, Abbie ADD lost her LPS game. There were no more to be found at the store. Somewhere along the way, Mother of the Year put Amelia in the front of the cart (just for a minute) and she cracked her head causing all around to be equally horrified and judge-y. We left before CPS came. (Note: She is not going to take a nap but at least she doesn't have pickle brained eyes) Somewhere along the way, NOBODY t...

Eat your food Tina!

Thursday: Philly cheesesteak sandwiches (which my cheese snob girls gagged through and led to a hearty conversation about how real philly sandwiches are made with cheese wiz-which I used can't please everyone. I liked them Friday: Stuffed potato skins, spinach salad Saturday: Chicken tortilla soup (in the crock pot? Don't know if I can handle that) Sunday: Oven roast, something lovely with carrots Monday: Homemade mac n cheese, turkey sausage Tuesday: Crab cakes made with salmon Wednesday: Cuban beans and rice Wholehearted apologies to all who have missed what we are eating. I'll will get better I promise.

Buttons or what?

So I was driving along listening to a little Pussycat dolls (I'm not proud of that fact, but a girl has got to get her groove on in the afternoon right?). "Loosen up my buttons, babe" was playing and I was happily singing along. Abbie was in the back seat and asked "What is a butt spray, mama?" She heard loosen up my butt spray. Kind of ruined the song for me actually.
Dear Abbie, Thanks for leaving your markers out. I want to be just like you and draw so nicely. So I thought I would try on the TV. And myself. And Daddy's new Xbox. Sincerely, Amelia D

Painting the guest bedroom

Abbie thought she would get in on the fun of painting. We had a great crew last night come over (Janet, dad, Dustin) and we pretty much cranked out the main room and the hall way. Brad was as usual slightly bossy to me but he is the foreman that I married so I will put up with it...Ha.

Abigail Maude Self Portrait

Love it when she grabs my camera.

Fun with Amelia

Amelia loves what Santa brought her. She will hop on and rock and try to reach the pedals. I overheard the girls laughing really hard and was just a few seconds too short and catching the real fun, but I'm glad they have a good time together.

Happy New Year!

There ain't nothing like spending New Year's Day with your dad dressed up in drag playing "Pretty Pretty Princess" with your 4 year old. Period. Seriously, we had a great New Year's Day. Brad spent time with his other woman (the basement) and my parents came over to eat turkey sandwiches, chips and dip, fruit cocktail, and lentil salad. On my mission, some people would eat lentils on New Year's to encourage wealth, prosperity and all those riches to come our way. I made a lovely lentil salad with a shallot vinegarette and snacked on it all day. We gonna be rich this year! By the way, Abbie won the game so I didn't get to take a picture of Papa with his green earrings, bracelet, necklace, ring and crown. And no, he didn't get to look in the mirror and repeat 3 times the phrase "I'm a pretty pretty Princess."
