If I knew you were coming...

A special note to all those that have stumbled on my little ol' blog I have noticed that as of late I have a few newcomers to the world of geese. Although my first instinct is to say "woah, you must be really hurting for entertainment" I mostly want to say welcome and howdy. Know that I have clicked over to all of your blogs (hollah Australia) and I would like to tell you that you have been added to my reader and I am the worlds suckiest commenter. If your love language is commenting ours will be a tumultous relationship. Truth, I even got kicked out of a secret blog community for my lack of commenting. I know. Hardcore. I love the blogging world and how it opens up new opportunities for new friendships. (Dear Spammers who comment in the Asian language, 停止试图向我兜售废话。走开从我的博客。你是不是真正的评论者 .不要让我打开字词验证 - (or stop trying to sell me crap. You are not a real commenter. Don't make me turn on word verification.)

The Chickens Turn 1!

So of course, I threw them a party. They didn't really care for the song or the why did the chicken cross the road jokes, but they did enjoy the party food. What do chickens serve at Birthday parties? Coop-cakes. Actually Abbie brought seeds, Max brought popcorn and Amelia brought worms (cooked spaghetti) Max kept saying Chickens so funny! Happy Birthday Chickens! Thanks for the good times ladies! Later, Max came to the unfun realization that his teeter tooter see sawing partner Amelia weighs less than he does making him always on the bottom. (nice boots Napolean)

Good Lordy: The Party

Brad, bless his heart, does not like attention. I on the other hand, bless my heart, don't relate to that. A few weeks ago I asked Brad what he wanted to do for his birthday. Brad, bless his heart, did not want to do anything that would cost money that would take away from his gifts. Bless my heart, I asked him if he wanted to have a small party. He said no way. Bless my heart, I asked him if he wanted to have a couple that we do things with over for cake. Bless his heart, he said yes as long as I made his favorite German Chocolate cake and I didn't make it a big deal. Bless my heart, all I got from the conversation was CAKE and FRIENDS. So I threw him a 40th birthday party with 40 friends invited and I made 40 cakes (which sadly didn't even include his German Chocolate one.). My friend Jessica, bless her heart, came over and helped me decorate each numbered cake. Max, bless his heart, ate 1 and a 1/2 cakes before the party but I luckily had some in reserve. The party was ...

Grandparents Dinner

Brad and I thought it would be a good idea to get the grandparents together for dinner the night before Abbie's baptism for a special date night. We chose Japanese to honor her 1/8th heritage (smile). I think its a tradition that I would like to do with all our kids before they get baptized as a way to say thank you for all their support and love in helping to make her the little girl she is today.

Abbie's Birthday Party: She blinded me with Science

Abbie had the funnest science party for her birthday. I made the kids science journals so they could predict what would happen and we rolled our sleeves up and had a ball. Can you squeeze an egg to break it? More egg fun, egg in the bottle trick, properties of hard boiled eggs etc. Dish soap + Dry ice=really cool stuff

Amelia's World

Hi my name is Amelia, and if I were an animal I'd be a horse that because I love them. My favorite thing to do is go fishing (which let the record show she has never done). When I grow up I want to be a mom (good answer!) My best friend is Kyle, Brientz, and Thatcher. My favorite color is dark green. My favorite TV show is Tom and Jerry. If somebody hits me it makes me sad. My favorite food is pasgetti and meatballs. My favorite toy is the computer.

The Dailyish: Helping Tame the Nest

All Amelia wants in this world when it comes to her hair is for me to leave it down. I sort of hate it down because its so wild so she willingly asks for me to wash her hair because she knows that means I will let her wear it down the next day. Maybe.

The Chocolate

I have been to the Chocolate ever since my friend Stacie and I discovered it in December more times than I would like to admit. I love the food but I love love love the atmosphere. I found, after taking my whole family, that the atmosphere is much better without my whole family. (no offense ya'lls) The first and last time I will take all 5 to my happy Chocolate Place. This one wanted to climb on the table And eat my lemon bar. Rude. And forcing me to nibble his sugar cookie. Rude. This one kept hogging my water. Rude. This one was channeling her inner Millie Bell. I have taken just Abbie and her American Girl doll Kit with some books to the Chocolate and had a lovely time, however. This one with his Willy Nilly Wishy Washy Sweet tooth is the WORST to take to a dessert place. He will order, take one bite, claim its too rich, then leave the rest for you to finish. Its not that great. You end up feeling like a cow. Too Jack Sprat for my taste.

The Dailyish: Breakfast

The kids, mostly Max, eat 4 boxes of cereal a week. Its not a surprise then, that I often run out of milk before I make the trip to Costco again. I like to think that Amelia is trying to make her milk go further rather than just playing in it to annoy me. Nope too late. It just annoys me.

Amelia: The Kindergarten Shot Rockstar

I mean seriously, look at that cute shot face! I have one child who is a joy to take to get shots. She is a joy because she doesn't freak out, isn't ridiculous and does not embarrass me. Not (cough cough) all my (cough cough) kids (coughOLDEST) are so cooperative. I registered Amelia for kindergarten and we celebrated after in her love language which is respectively stuffed animals and ice cream. Waiting for her turn. I don't even have to bribe her to be good Realizing that the special place is Build a Bear Max kept picking out animals from the bin and saying "No dat not wight Her new furry friend aptly named "Furry Friend" is ready for her new home
