Caught unawares

Why it's impossible to have candles burning in the house

Playtime with Max

Notice, he has the Piston Cup racers separate from the brown blanket which represents Radiator Springs. I will die of a broken heart when he stops playing cars all day long.

Amelia's Lost Tooth

Abbie's Eyes

I remember a (creepy) conversation I had with someone when they found out I was pregnant with Abbie. He joked that he would be the second dr. in the delivery room there to fit her immediately with glasses. You see, this man was my optometrist, so it really came as no surprise when Abbie started complaining of headaches and squinting to tell me it was 8:9E on the clock. Pretty sure that doesn't count as a real viable time.

Signs of the apocalypse

So the last few weeks have been a little heavy on the damnation, pestilence, and plagues around my house. Suffice it to say, if the pregnant mouse didn't come inside to have her 7 little mouse babies (which were all exterminated mercilessly in a matter of hours, thank you very much...), January could have been just peachy. It was a harrowing 2 days of mouse busting but it left a bit of a bitter taste in my mouth. Not to mention I am a little chicken to sip my evening tea with a book in the basement JUST IN CASE. February-you with your fire and horrible smoke in my kitchen resulting in multiple washings and scrubbing down every surface with vinegar, odor be gone, candles and such-I am surrendering to the knowledge that my family is bound to smell like a truck stop on I-80. If the powers that be think I have taken up smoking based on my febreezed overcoat so be it. This girl is tired and ready to be released from her calling anyways. (three years, three days, not that I am counting.)...

Groundhog Day

Evolution in the ugly: From Homeless to Ad*lt F*lm Star

So Brad had this little contest at work to grow a beard. The beard both horrified and delighted me so I begged him to keep it until Christmas. He promised he would shave on Christmas. He did not, however, promise how much he would shave on Christmas. Enjoy. Day one: Shave some sweet chops and trim the beard. One small strip gone. I laughed so hard I nearly peed myself when I saw it. Day two: Got rid of the chops and settled on this major stache action. Bom chicka bow wow. Day three: Trim the stache, keep the soul patch. He looks like a cop circa 1984. Day four: Shave the moostache (how Amelia pronounced it) but keep the soul. Aw yeah. Man I can't wait for next Growvember!
