Happy Birthday Baby!

5 years ago today Ms. Abigail Maude was born making me the proudest and happiest new mom on the planet. We have much fun planned for today because as she puts it "I'm a whole hand now!" but I thought I would pause and write a little bit of lesser known facts about Abbily Dabbily Doo.

#1. She eats just about anything and has always been a really good eater BUT she prefers "non-kid" food i.e. she doesn't love PB&J, hotdogs, hamburgers, and only recently started liking grilled cheese and mac n cheese. Her snack of choice? cottage cheese and mandarin oranges.
#2. She learned how to ride a 2 wheeler in the summer because daddy ran over her training wheels forcing her to learn on a big bike.
#3. When she feels insecure she starts acting like an animal. Puma, cat, small puppy.
#4. She LOVES to clean the toilet and tubs.
#5. Her due date was 2/7/02 but we tried to induce her on 02/02/02. She did not cooperate.
#6. When she finally came she weighed a whopping 9.5.
#7. Her favorite TV shows are Little Bear, Big Comfy Couch and Curious George.
#8. She says her favorite movie is Open Season (although she has NEVER seen it...)
#9. She wants to marry Athen F. and has wanted to since she was 2.
#10. She is amazing artist and takes lessons from the beautiful Marlene.
#11 When she smiles her eyes and nose crinkles just like her mom's.
#12. She has the most lovely hair. It is thick, healthy, and easy to maintain. (she does it).
#13. She says the best prayers.
#14. When Melia was born she called her "Cruella di-di" and "Stinky baby sister"
#15. She calls me her "Big boot-ay mama"
#16. Her favorite song is Aba Daba Honeymoon.
#17. She once put sun lotion on the windows to protect them.
#18. Her daddy irritates her until she squeals like a slaughtered pig but when she comes home she yells down to him that "Your sweetheart is home!"
#19. She gives the BEST crustys.
#20. She doesn't fall asleep until she sings for a while. Even if its "Bed, Bed, I don't like you, you are boring" she puts it to music.
#21. She likes to know what the rules are and then enforce them.
#22. She is wild about her little sister.
#23. She doesn't know her own phone number but can dial grandma.
#24. She really wants a pet. She will have to settle for "Little Pet Shop".
#25. Some of her first words were Target and Home Bee-Po
#26. She likes to hang out and Brad's office.
#27. She is very cuddly and affectionate.
#28. She went out to French Toast for breakfast because that's what farmers eat.

Happy Birthday Abbie! Loved learning some new little things about you, but I personally think it is ADORABLE how your eyes and nose crinkle just like your mom. So cute.

Why I totally rule: How I rediscovered my chi

(In order to fully appreciate this post, you MUST put on the background music. Just click the play from youtube. This has potential to be a longagong post so you might as well enjoy some tunes. I did most of my training with these gentleman blasting in my ear. Vampire Weekend, I love you.) Here's the story with the gory details. Why do you tri? On October 18, 2004 I delivered a 16 week old boy in the same room of the American Fork hospital that I lost one six months earlier. (I get pregnant really easily.) The previous week I had seen the doctor and everything was looking good and right on track so yay for me. While the first one was devastating (a whole other post for a whole other day), it was number 2 that changed me. I was so angry at my body for betraying me and not letting me do what I wanted it to do. I figured I was doing all the "right things" with the taking care of myself so therefore, I would be able to carry the babies to term and everyone would live happily ...

I'll go where you want me to go dear Lord, but Primary?!

Brad took the picture of me teaching GD a year ago. I was not pleased. No pictures. Brad took this picture of Max while I was teaching GD a month ago. I was pleased. Pictures of Max are fine by me. Some important thoughts on my new calling: In the 21 years since I have been in Primary as a merrie miss (apparently they are not called that anymore), I have subbed a handfull of times. It was not a success. One time, while subbing for Brad I went into the class and the boys had escaped out the window. All I saw were a set of feet as the kid was leaping out. Another time, while subbing for Brad I used the tie some kid was using and irritating everyone around him with and TIED HIM TO THE CHAIR. Another time, while subbing, the kid sliced his finger on the chair (not the same kid and he was not trying to escape my tying him up.) and ended up in the ER. (and it so happens that his mom is my 2nd counselor. I think that's funny.) I really really really loved teaching Gospel Doctrine. I hope ...

I am not sure if he is showing off his new tie he got for Christmas? He is a handsome little guy!
