Freaking out AND coping...

So we had some lovely friends over for dinner on Sunday and I was asked the question that I haven't thought about..at...all...
"What have you done to get ready for the baby?"

The truth? Nada. Nothin'. Zilch. Nil. Zero.

Fast forward to Monday Funday when I am cleaning Abbie's room and thinking...
"WHERE AM I GOING TO PUT THIS child?! Where am I going to put Amelia? How am I going to contain this chaos? Abbie's room is cute as can be but it has its fair share of ponies, barbies, pet shops, clothes, shoes, stuffed animals, etc....so it can be a challenge to keep tiday. Enter the Amelia tornado. Where do I put her and all of her stuff? I told Brad I think we needed to hire a professional organizer to come in and help me do it. Its not really in the budget but I still have a professional in mind (Hollah Grannie!).

So yesterday I spent the day looking at bedding and other fun things and while I am not really in a pottery barn kids/land of nod ability to spend I did find some things that I liked in the Target/Ikea world. So do I do something like this
or do I do something like this?
The one I wanted was this but it had some bad reviews fading and such so that's a no-go. I don't want a barbie/hello kitty/dora themed room at ALL but it is a bit hard to find some cute girls kids bedding. Boo. Never mind I haven't bought A THING for this child housed in my womb. No diapers. Not even a wipe. Considering that Amelia came in 3 weeks from where I am right now...well enter the panic.

Today wasn't much better. I am going to have 3. One of them is a boy-child. I decided that butter and sugar was the only way I could cope so here is the result. The girls were much more willing to join me today.

By the way. Ikea opens in less than 18 hours. Hold me back.

Did I hear my name calling??????Been on another assignment in the Pacific Northwest....where we did a master super shopping at the Ikea head down shopping chart heading straight down the vast maze of people...LOOK OUTTTTTT> My services are available will keep the black guy at bay....Some cutsie ideas but we can do better than that......Don't you find that SUGAR and flour seem to fix all that is wrong with the world....Why are you not in line with your pup ten at the IK to to receive your FREE CHAIR ( I guess people in Utah do not realize that the furniture at IKEA is generally not more than 49.95//////
I like the shabby stuff best, but it looks like aunt grannie might have some better ideas! :)

When is your little guy due? I'm assuming soon... what's your address????

I like the monkeys...it will be so cute with her peach walls. They will grow out of it, but probably when it is ready to go anyways!

And, hello, are you going to share your blogger wallpaper tricks with me??? ;) Love your blog makeover. The help needs to be sent this a way!!!

Also, while I am asking for things when you have a lot to be thinking about, are you going to tell us some more details about this little guy...name, theme for his room etc??

And, also, hmmm...

No, I'm just kidding, I'll be done, for now!

Aunt Grannie doesn't like black guys?? Weird. Hehehe. Just kidding Jan. Just kidding Mitzi! If it's any consolation in any shape, size, or way, our baby's room doesn't have carpet, and the walls need to be repainted, and let's face it, The kid's going to be nekkid because I thought it was a girl FO SHO and bought girl clothes. Bah.

I like the pink dots too - bummer about the fading.

There is sure to be something fun at Ikea right? (Whether you come out of there with what you originally went in to find - now that's another story.)

Why I totally rule: How I rediscovered my chi

(In order to fully appreciate this post, you MUST put on the background music. Just click the play from youtube. This has potential to be a longagong post so you might as well enjoy some tunes. I did most of my training with these gentleman blasting in my ear. Vampire Weekend, I love you.) Here's the story with the gory details. Why do you tri? On October 18, 2004 I delivered a 16 week old boy in the same room of the American Fork hospital that I lost one six months earlier. (I get pregnant really easily.) The previous week I had seen the doctor and everything was looking good and right on track so yay for me. While the first one was devastating (a whole other post for a whole other day), it was number 2 that changed me. I was so angry at my body for betraying me and not letting me do what I wanted it to do. I figured I was doing all the "right things" with the taking care of myself so therefore, I would be able to carry the babies to term and everyone would live happily ...

I'll go where you want me to go dear Lord, but Primary?!

Brad took the picture of me teaching GD a year ago. I was not pleased. No pictures. Brad took this picture of Max while I was teaching GD a month ago. I was pleased. Pictures of Max are fine by me. Some important thoughts on my new calling: In the 21 years since I have been in Primary as a merrie miss (apparently they are not called that anymore), I have subbed a handfull of times. It was not a success. One time, while subbing for Brad I went into the class and the boys had escaped out the window. All I saw were a set of feet as the kid was leaping out. Another time, while subbing for Brad I used the tie some kid was using and irritating everyone around him with and TIED HIM TO THE CHAIR. Another time, while subbing, the kid sliced his finger on the chair (not the same kid and he was not trying to escape my tying him up.) and ended up in the ER. (and it so happens that his mom is my 2nd counselor. I think that's funny.) I really really really loved teaching Gospel Doctrine. I hope ...

I am not sure if he is showing off his new tie he got for Christmas? He is a handsome little guy!
