Amelia's trip to California

(Amelia wanted to write a report of what we did on our trip. She is pretty detailed and I think did a much better job than I ever could of what went down that wonderful week before Christmas)

We went 664 miles. We were gone for 7 days before Christmas. We went to Palm Desert in California. We left very early in the morning, and we got to pick movies. When we got there, we were at a ho-and tel. My mom brought Christmas lights, a small tree, and other decorations for our place so we felt like we were home. I was so excited! It was hardly night. My grandpa came from Portland and stayed in our special ho and tel. We visited some places that he lived when he was a boy in Palm Springs and we found a great park with ducks. The next day we went to church and then toured a Date Farm and ate date shakes. I liked them a little bit. The next day I went to visit my cousins in San Diego. It took a few hours over the mountains to get to their house. We ate hamburgers then went to the beach. I pulled up my pant legs and I went in the water. I played in the sand. Then we went to see the Christmas lights at the San Diego temple. It was pretty. We went to Old Town San Diego and visited the Mormon Battalian. There were talking pictures that moved and told stories. We went gold mining and I found some gold outside. Then we went to go eat quesadillas and French fries.
The next day we went swimming. We went back to the park and fed the ducks. It was so fun.

A few days came we went to desert. It was so hot there. When we were going there, my dad got us orange floats. My mom got diet coke. I got to go on the rocks in the desert. I was so high. At last it was time to go from the desert. My ear was hurting. We went to Shade. I played on the wii. We went to the ho-and tel. My mom said there was a bird in our room. It was so small. My dad caught it before we ate dinner. After dinner, we got our swimming suits on. We went swimming. My mom said if we swam at night magical things will happen. So we went to the pool. We went and got ice cream in our swimming suits. We were so wet we had to take a shower, then we had to put on our PJ’s. We played a sandwich game. It was so fun! Then we went to bed. I had my own bed with Max my brother. I watched some shows with my brother then I went to sleep. In the morning we returned the sandwich game then we got a new game at Shade. We got a toy story 3.

Why I totally rule: How I rediscovered my chi

(In order to fully appreciate this post, you MUST put on the background music. Just click the play from youtube. This has potential to be a longagong post so you might as well enjoy some tunes. I did most of my training with these gentleman blasting in my ear. Vampire Weekend, I love you.) Here's the story with the gory details. Why do you tri? On October 18, 2004 I delivered a 16 week old boy in the same room of the American Fork hospital that I lost one six months earlier. (I get pregnant really easily.) The previous week I had seen the doctor and everything was looking good and right on track so yay for me. While the first one was devastating (a whole other post for a whole other day), it was number 2 that changed me. I was so angry at my body for betraying me and not letting me do what I wanted it to do. I figured I was doing all the "right things" with the taking care of myself so therefore, I would be able to carry the babies to term and everyone would live happily ...

I'll go where you want me to go dear Lord, but Primary?!

Brad took the picture of me teaching GD a year ago. I was not pleased. No pictures. Brad took this picture of Max while I was teaching GD a month ago. I was pleased. Pictures of Max are fine by me. Some important thoughts on my new calling: In the 21 years since I have been in Primary as a merrie miss (apparently they are not called that anymore), I have subbed a handfull of times. It was not a success. One time, while subbing for Brad I went into the class and the boys had escaped out the window. All I saw were a set of feet as the kid was leaping out. Another time, while subbing for Brad I used the tie some kid was using and irritating everyone around him with and TIED HIM TO THE CHAIR. Another time, while subbing, the kid sliced his finger on the chair (not the same kid and he was not trying to escape my tying him up.) and ended up in the ER. (and it so happens that his mom is my 2nd counselor. I think that's funny.) I really really really loved teaching Gospel Doctrine. I hope ...

I am not sure if he is showing off his new tie he got for Christmas? He is a handsome little guy!
