Dear Bob Eubanks

Remember when you were my favorite weatherman? Can you please do something about the nonsense that is 84 degrees September 29? You are seriously killing my buzz for autumn. Please come out of "weatherman retirement" or whatever and give me a decent fall forecast. Seriously, the inside of my house is 78 degrees but I refuse to put the air on principle. Sheesh.

Anywhoo, I took the kids on a fall adventure hoping to evoke a little fall weather. It did not work. It was very hot. We went here.

First stop, ice cream
Max chose Apple Pie ice cream. It had actual chunks of crust in it. He likey.

Abbie was hot/ornery and wanted to eat her ice cream in the shade. I told her to go stand in the shade of the fence. That irritated her even more.

Amelia chose cookie dough. Yes it was really hot but I made them wear their Holiday shirts.

Next activity: Hay ride to the pumpkin patch to pick out pumpkins.

The ride was very bumpy.

The perfect pumpkin.

The perfect pumpkin-head.

He kept picking these little weed things for me to hold. Thanks doodle.

Final activity: See how they make apple cider and buy apples. Instead I strapped them all in the car, cranked the air conditioning, and waved at them while I was inside paying for their pumpkins and ordering cider slushes TO GO. The quickest way to end an activity is to have all three gang up on me with their bad behaviors.
Abbie: threw a fit because she wanted to buy daddy some donuts. I mean like a hissy fit that she should know better kind of fit. No donuts.

Amelia: Although she doesn't look like she has been crying, she got in trouble because she was not cooperating or listening to the rules. Later she said sorry I be a-diculous.

Max: wanted to drive the apple carts in the street and threw screaming fits when I stopped his shenanigans. Totally forgiven immediately because he is my perfect baby.

Since they were so naughty, I punished them by listening to smooth jazz instead of something we can all sing to and enjoy. Sweet, sweet diet coke and sweet, sweet vengeance.

Tristan is right, live it up, the weather will probably doing a dramatic 180 and everyone will be way bummed.

I'm salivating over the ice cream!

did I actually just type "way bummed?" -- speaking Spanish all the time is clearly having a negative effect on my vocabulary...

Being somewhat of an "expoit" on local weathermen - the old Eubanks was "Mark" not Bob.

Bob (I'm also an expoit on "Bob's") was the host for a quiz show (maybe the Newly Wed Game).

In any event, love the blog and the actual play by play of the day. Why would Abbie not be happy with the shade from the fence? I'm also somewhat of an expoit on fences. they do provide all kinds of emotions!

Love you!

I blame the entire Eubanks family and I'm pretty sure Al Gore is in on it too! Very cute pictures.

Why I totally rule: How I rediscovered my chi

(In order to fully appreciate this post, you MUST put on the background music. Just click the play from youtube. This has potential to be a longagong post so you might as well enjoy some tunes. I did most of my training with these gentleman blasting in my ear. Vampire Weekend, I love you.) Here's the story with the gory details. Why do you tri? On October 18, 2004 I delivered a 16 week old boy in the same room of the American Fork hospital that I lost one six months earlier. (I get pregnant really easily.) The previous week I had seen the doctor and everything was looking good and right on track so yay for me. While the first one was devastating (a whole other post for a whole other day), it was number 2 that changed me. I was so angry at my body for betraying me and not letting me do what I wanted it to do. I figured I was doing all the "right things" with the taking care of myself so therefore, I would be able to carry the babies to term and everyone would live happily ...

I'll go where you want me to go dear Lord, but Primary?!

Brad took the picture of me teaching GD a year ago. I was not pleased. No pictures. Brad took this picture of Max while I was teaching GD a month ago. I was pleased. Pictures of Max are fine by me. Some important thoughts on my new calling: In the 21 years since I have been in Primary as a merrie miss (apparently they are not called that anymore), I have subbed a handfull of times. It was not a success. One time, while subbing for Brad I went into the class and the boys had escaped out the window. All I saw were a set of feet as the kid was leaping out. Another time, while subbing for Brad I used the tie some kid was using and irritating everyone around him with and TIED HIM TO THE CHAIR. Another time, while subbing, the kid sliced his finger on the chair (not the same kid and he was not trying to escape my tying him up.) and ended up in the ER. (and it so happens that his mom is my 2nd counselor. I think that's funny.) I really really really loved teaching Gospel Doctrine. I hope ...

I am not sure if he is showing off his new tie he got for Christmas? He is a handsome little guy!
