Catching Up Highlight and Lowlight Style

Highlight of my birthday?
Brad got me a pot rack for my birthday. He said its cause I got a nice rack. Heh. Meeting blog friends for breakfast, going on a bike ride, planting a few things in the garden, taking a bath, presents presents presents.

Lowlight of my birthday?-
Deciding to use the leverage of my birthday to try this out instead of cake. Would have been great had I have just received mouth surgery. Pudding on the poop. Nasty.
Oh, and thinking that I could wear these darlings on a date with Brad and not want to take them off and walk barefoot. Its time to break out of the sensible granny shoes.
Highlight of la Looza?
Oh MY GOSH!! It was the greatest partay ever. Such fabulous women! It was so strange to know SO much about these women--and then meet them all face to face. Long time friends who have just met. Lots of Oprah moments.
Lowlight of la Looza?
No Shannan. Or Rob (I know he campaigned hard for that invite. Oh, and I spilled a good cup of the chicken sauce on my favorite shirt then walked around all Messy Marvin like all night.

Highlight of the week?
These lovelies at Thanksgiving Point. (thanks for the year pass Bradfo).
Lowlight of the week:
Being faced with the reality that I can't keep up with the demands of teaching seminary. (especially when they want me to take 2 classes. no can do ya'll.) I cry about this everytime I think about it. In the nine years Brad and I have been married I have taught seminary 8 of them. 5 have been special needs. I have no idea who I am now.(Sorry to leave everyone on the lowlight.)

Don't you remember teaching our class seminary? With that in mind, I think you can change your 5 to a 6.
Happy belated birthday. Glad you had a good day.

Love the lows and the highs. Must admit,I am sad for you, and leaving the D.P. Sem..I am sure that is a hard call to make! :(
But I am sure if you need a good reminiscing, you can come hang out with us, not that we're special needs, just cause we like to reminisce. :)

Okay, so you teach seminary - as a job I'm assuming - AND you are primary president!?! I think one of the bravest things we must do is know our limitations. Don't be sad. And, I LOVE THOSE SHOES! Not that I could walk around in them... Oh, and Happy Birthday!

Looks like you had a great birthday!!! I do have to disaggree with you on the whole "pudding on the rice" thing I LOVE IT!!!!! I guess it may be because I grew up with my grandma always making it! Which flavor did you try? The englishman toffee in New york is the best!!!!

Happy (belated) birthday! If you would have fessed up (to me at least) we would have sung to you at BP thereby stretching your birthday our at least 2 more days, which is always a bonus in my book.
It was so fun to meet you and I hope we can play soon! As a side note, I too am signed up for the same triathlon- my first. We should chat! I would email you but can't figure out how so you must email me instead.

(In order to fully appreciate this post, you MUST put on the background music. Just click the play from youtube. This has potential to be a longagong post so you might as well enjoy some tunes. I did most of my training with these gentleman blasting in my ear. Vampire Weekend, I love you.) Here's the story with the gory details. Why do you tri? On October 18, 2004 I delivered a 16 week old boy in the same room of the American Fork hospital that I lost one six months earlier. (I get pregnant really easily.) The previous week I had seen the doctor and everything was looking good and right on track so yay for me. While the first one was devastating (a whole other post for a whole other day), it was number 2 that changed me. I was so angry at my body for betraying me and not letting me do what I wanted it to do. I figured I was doing all the "right things" with the taking care of myself so therefore, I would be able to carry the babies to term and everyone would live happily ...

I'll go where you want me to go dear Lord, but Primary?!

Brad took the picture of me teaching GD a year ago. I was not pleased. No pictures. Brad took this picture of Max while I was teaching GD a month ago. I was pleased. Pictures of Max are fine by me. Some important thoughts on my new calling: In the 21 years since I have been in Primary as a merrie miss (apparently they are not called that anymore), I have subbed a handfull of times. It was not a success. One time, while subbing for Brad I went into the class and the boys had escaped out the window. All I saw were a set of feet as the kid was leaping out. Another time, while subbing for Brad I used the tie some kid was using and irritating everyone around him with and TIED HIM TO THE CHAIR. Another time, while subbing, the kid sliced his finger on the chair (not the same kid and he was not trying to escape my tying him up.) and ended up in the ER. (and it so happens that his mom is my 2nd counselor. I think that's funny.) I really really really loved teaching Gospel Doctrine. I hope ...

I am not sure if he is showing off his new tie he got for Christmas? He is a handsome little guy!
