I gots some s'plainen to do

So for those of you that just come to my blog but don't comment (I know who you are and where you are so please say hello to me!!!) maybe you think I am a bad parent to Amelia because I really don't know how to control her. Maybe you think she is bratty. Maybe you think I don't really supervise her.

But the reality is, she is just a very unique little one.

When I call her she either says "sorry mom" (like she is apologizing in advance for something) or she'll say "Now what?! with her hands on her hips.

If I want her to stop what she is doing she gives me a passionate Oh MAN!!! (bite me Swiper).

After giving Amela a bath and laying out the clothes on Saturday night I went to get Max out of the tub and ready for bed. Amelia likes to run all over and shake her booty and yell I nakey!!! so it was no real big deal for me to finish what I was doing before I get her in her PJs. It was a cold, miserable near snowy day so I was looking for Max's warm jammies. I hear the front door open. I finish getting Max ready. I see Amelia. Outside. Naked. With a Wet head.. In Abbie's dance costume skirt. In Brad's slippers. Heading for the park.

sigh.

I thought about her bare booty sliding down the cold blue slide. Would she learn that it really is better to wear clothes when you go to the park? So I yelled at her to get home NOW. Then I took a picture. (I had to adjust the dress to make it blog appropriate)

In other news, Max has 2 new bottom teeth and Abbie had 2 bottom teeth pulled. Need to get a picture of that but I am too busy chasing down my nakey 2 year old.

I appreciate knowing that others' children love to do crazy things too. :) And I too love Amelia Stories. It makes me smile, and somehow captures the joy of being young....

Here's your comment:

Brrr!!!

Reminds me of a story about my sister going to visit the neighbors while my mom rinsed out the tub - she caught up to her in the woods - halfway there.

What if Amelia's bum was still damp when she attempted the slide?

Oh dear Cuz!
I had those same stories for years from my little middle child. and then POOF! they started fizzling away and now that he is 5, they lack the same flair that they used to, so I'm glad you have this blog to record all of Mia Mia's adventures.

My version of your story today involves Blake escaping from the house when he was 4 at 7:30am on Sunday morning. The neighbor friend calls me and I think, "Why is she calling me so early??" and she says, "Did you know Blake is here wanting to jump on the tramp?" and I'm like, "Uh, no I didn't know he could leave the house. I'm coming now to get him".

Sigh.

That's hilarious - I'm laughing in sympathy. We once showed up to church with a nakey bummed 2 year old. Didn't realize it until she was upside down over her chair for the whole world to see.

I second Celia's vote.

That picture may prove to be very valuable during Amelia's teenage years...some serious blackmail fodder.

I too will add my vote for Mia stories. They're super entertaining...and I'm sure frustrating for you at times, but you have the best attitude! Love it.

p.s. I also particularly LOVED Abbie's face at the April Fool's cake. You really are the coolest mom.

My kids are just not as funny as your kids.

And while I was in Utah, I hoped to run into everywhere. Really.

Naughty kids are the best kind, provided they belong to some other mother. She sounds like a hilarious handful.

Okay, maybe we need to pow wow. I'm realizing more and more that Lydia is a bit more spirited than your average little girl. I don't know what to do with her most of the time in between her shining moments of adorableness. Amelia sounds similar. You just have to sigh and do your best. Cute story.:)

(In order to fully appreciate this post, you MUST put on the background music. Just click the play from youtube. This has potential to be a longagong post so you might as well enjoy some tunes. I did most of my training with these gentleman blasting in my ear. Vampire Weekend, I love you.) Here's the story with the gory details. Why do you tri? On October 18, 2004 I delivered a 16 week old boy in the same room of the American Fork hospital that I lost one six months earlier. (I get pregnant really easily.) The previous week I had seen the doctor and everything was looking good and right on track so yay for me. While the first one was devastating (a whole other post for a whole other day), it was number 2 that changed me. I was so angry at my body for betraying me and not letting me do what I wanted it to do. I figured I was doing all the "right things" with the taking care of myself so therefore, I would be able to carry the babies to term and everyone would live happily ...

I'll go where you want me to go dear Lord, but Primary?!

Brad took the picture of me teaching GD a year ago. I was not pleased. No pictures. Brad took this picture of Max while I was teaching GD a month ago. I was pleased. Pictures of Max are fine by me. Some important thoughts on my new calling: In the 21 years since I have been in Primary as a merrie miss (apparently they are not called that anymore), I have subbed a handfull of times. It was not a success. One time, while subbing for Brad I went into the class and the boys had escaped out the window. All I saw were a set of feet as the kid was leaping out. Another time, while subbing for Brad I used the tie some kid was using and irritating everyone around him with and TIED HIM TO THE CHAIR. Another time, while subbing, the kid sliced his finger on the chair (not the same kid and he was not trying to escape my tying him up.) and ended up in the ER. (and it so happens that his mom is my 2nd counselor. I think that's funny.) I really really really loved teaching Gospel Doctrine. I hope ...

Why its not good to leave your shoes lying around...

So day 3 of potty training. I push the drinks of water, orange juice, milk. Whatever. She holds it all morning long. We are on the potty every 15-30 minutes. She pees on the floor in the basement. (pergo so big deal). Last night while I am getting Max out of the tub she hops on the toilet and makes a download. My head nearly came off I was so excited. So she won't pee on the potty but she will do the other stuff. Or will she? Around 11:00 she starts telling me she is reedy reedy sweepy. I tell her to wait and we will put on a pull up and take a nap. About a half and hour later she wants a diaper please. I tell her we don't have any more diapers but when she is ready for a nap we will put the pull up on. She says ok and slumps up the stairs. I'm thinking I have mutiny on my hands. I am expecting to see her in a pull up with no intention of taking a nap. She comes down and shows the poop on her hands. She says she had a reedy reedy big poop. I ask her where she put it. She sa...
