Don't go lookin' for Ashton K......

.....because nobody's getting Punk'd and I'm not doing a late April Fool's joke.
I've got a semi secret.

(Semi because I've told a lot of people because I STINK at secrets.)

In 30 days I will be competing in my first ever

I know that I (get ready for lots of quotation marks here...) don't really have "the body type" or am really "very athletic" and I have never "done any sports" and I "won't exactly be coming in first place" but it was a goal that I set a few months back and now that I am in the "final month" it is "really exciting".

(and yes, I still chant "Move your big butt" in my head when I run to the pounding of the pavement.)

Be impressed by me here and I promise I will not be irritated that I've only lost 4 lbs since I started training in January.

phew. that feels better. I love telling secrets.

Good job!!

there is nothing like a good old fashioned triathlon to get yourself into shape.
Are you doing the Danksin one? I've been meaning to do it for years, but just never get around to it!

Wish I got registered in time...But I am going to try to be at the finish line to cheer you ladies on! One month and counting! You'll be fantastic!

I also stink at secrets. I'm very impressed. FOr all my love of exercise, I've never done one of these cause swimming is SO hard and biking hurts my butt.

How about a run, elliptical, kickboxing triathlon? I'd be good at that one.

Yowza. Do you have to wear a bathing suit in front of people or can you just wear your bike shorts?

Congrats. I can't wait to see pictures.

You are totally going to win! Moms are way stronger than all of those "athlete" types. I'm seriously considering doing the next one with you Heather. You'll have to let me know what you end up wearing (I'm with Celia Fea - the bathing suit is really the part that concerns me.)

I lurk on your blog often because you are funny and insightful and just plain enjoyable. But, I decided to de-cloak to say good luck and that you are incredible for making and keeping this goal. Hurrah for you!

I reserve the right to mock you ceaselessly...but you know that I'm doing it because I'm jealous. :P

I wished you lived closer to me because doing something like this is what I've been wanting to do forever. But I'm chicken and I need a buddy. Plus, I don't know how to swim and I think that could be a problem.

Don't have your e-mail so this might not be the place to say this, but I just wanted to thank-you for inviting me for BP to stay with you, but I must regrettfully decline your fabulous offer. My husband has got Cabelas on the brain while I have fun and I have got 'I really don't want to have to bring my baby to BP' on MY brain.

I CANNOT wait to meet you though because I've heard great things about you and just the fact that you invited me shows me that you're an amazing individual!

Can I just say that I'm sad I don't get to try your cooking? Everyone keeps talking about it and I visualized myself at your house in your kitchen with a special breakfast all prepared for me. Wishful thinking? Maybe. But still...

That is impressive. My husband is a tri-athlete, me, not so much. Good luck!

Heather... I am SO, SO, SO impressed. Truly. What a stud. The bathing suit part especially.

I am coming to Provo/Orem next weekend, let's get together, yeah, yeah, yeah! I am trying to talk Rach into coming too! E-mail me with your Phone #. bjgrose@sbcglobal.net
You were pregnant with Abby when we went on that cruise, now look! Three kids and you are still sane!

Wait, maybe not, you are doing a triathalon. Nope, you're not sane.

Why I totally rule: How I rediscovered my chi

(In order to fully appreciate this post, you MUST put on the background music. Just click the play from youtube. This has potential to be a longagong post so you might as well enjoy some tunes. I did most of my training with these gentleman blasting in my ear. Vampire Weekend, I love you.) Here's the story with the gory details. Why do you tri? On October 18, 2004 I delivered a 16 week old boy in the same room of the American Fork hospital that I lost one six months earlier. (I get pregnant really easily.) The previous week I had seen the doctor and everything was looking good and right on track so yay for me. While the first one was devastating (a whole other post for a whole other day), it was number 2 that changed me. I was so angry at my body for betraying me and not letting me do what I wanted it to do. I figured I was doing all the "right things" with the taking care of myself so therefore, I would be able to carry the babies to term and everyone would live happily ...

I'll go where you want me to go dear Lord, but Primary?!

Brad took the picture of me teaching GD a year ago. I was not pleased. No pictures. Brad took this picture of Max while I was teaching GD a month ago. I was pleased. Pictures of Max are fine by me. Some important thoughts on my new calling: In the 21 years since I have been in Primary as a merrie miss (apparently they are not called that anymore), I have subbed a handfull of times. It was not a success. One time, while subbing for Brad I went into the class and the boys had escaped out the window. All I saw were a set of feet as the kid was leaping out. Another time, while subbing for Brad I used the tie some kid was using and irritating everyone around him with and TIED HIM TO THE CHAIR. Another time, while subbing, the kid sliced his finger on the chair (not the same kid and he was not trying to escape my tying him up.) and ended up in the ER. (and it so happens that his mom is my 2nd counselor. I think that's funny.) I really really really loved teaching Gospel Doctrine. I hope ...

Why its not good to leave your shoes lying around...

So day 3 of potty training. I push the drinks of water, orange juice, milk. Whatever. She holds it all morning long. We are on the potty every 15-30 minutes. She pees on the floor in the basement. (pergo so big deal). Last night while I am getting Max out of the tub she hops on the toilet and makes a download. My head nearly came off I was so excited. So she won't pee on the potty but she will do the other stuff. Or will she? Around 11:00 she starts telling me she is reedy reedy sweepy. I tell her to wait and we will put on a pull up and take a nap. About a half and hour later she wants a diaper please. I tell her we don't have any more diapers but when she is ready for a nap we will put the pull up on. She says ok and slumps up the stairs. I'm thinking I have mutiny on my hands. I am expecting to see her in a pull up with no intention of taking a nap. She comes down and shows the poop on her hands. She says she had a reedy reedy big poop. I ask her where she put it. She sa...
