I told the kids that something magical happens when you go swimming at night. The steam came off the pool and we had it mostly to ourselves. Such fun memories on our wonderful vacation!

(Amelia wanted to write a report of what we did on our trip. She is pretty detailed and I think did a much better job than I ever could of what went down that wonderful week before Christmas) We went 664 miles. We were gone for 7 days before Christmas. We went to Palm Desert in California. We left very early in the morning, and we got to pick movies. When we got there, we were at a ho-and tel. My mom brought Christmas lights, a small tree, and other decorations for our place so we felt like we were home. I was so excited! It was hardly night. My grandpa came from Portland and stayed in our special ho and tel. We visited some places that he lived when he was a boy in Palm Springs and we found a great park with ducks. The next day we went to church and then toured a Date Farm and ate date shakes. I liked them a little bit. The next day I went to visit my cousins in San Diego. I am so happy I have kids who get my love for a big tub. One day after swimming I wanted them to rinse out the chlorine from their hair, so in the tub they went! it was not what you would call tidy though.

Cause mine do. Can't wait to take another one this week!

This child is SO SENSITIVE! He won't cry if he gets hurt, but his tender little heart breaks if you hurt his feelings.

Make sure the animals are properly secured in the car seat. If you are tired of eating the super healthy wal-mart chocolate donuts, you can always just put them in your glasses to double the lens possibilities.

Might I suggest giving your 4 year old a harmonica while he walks to school?

If, by chance, you are trying to earn a few bucks with field agent and you have to drag all the kids to multiple stores, chances are you will end up losing Amelia. And perhaps your mind.

This was our fifth year going to the roof to celebrate the holiday by eating prime rib.

Side note-do you say Pah-jamas or Pah-Jahmas? Bradfo says one which caused Abbie to wonder aloud if we were going to have Pahn-cakes for breakfast.

Although, to be fair, haven't we all felt like this sometime or another at church?

And that my friends, is why its a bad idea to multi-task by getting yourself ready while you clean your bathroom.
