Nature's Wonders

One morning Max and I were doing some harvesting at the garden and we came upon this little beauty. Max was able to get up close and observe. It was magical!

Heber Valley Quarter

Brad and Abbie had the wonderful opportunity to go on a bike ride together for the Heber Valley Century. They rode strong and well and I was so proud of them both!

Our Garden

It has been such a blessing to grow out own produce this summer.

Off to conquer the world and chase bad guys

One (race) track mind on the first day of preschool

Cars 2 Shirt, Cars Cheeze-its, Cars backpack filled with Cars 2 Lightening McQueen, Finn McMissile, Jeff Gorvette, Shiny Wax, Tank Coat, Francesco Bernouli, Octane Gain, Leakless, Queenie, Flo, DJ, and Mater or in otherwords the ones that he could sneak past me. When I asked him what he was thinking before he went into class he replied, "I'm just thinking about race tracks." I just hope the teacher uses the Piston Cup to reward Max for good behavior.

Two Wheeler Deal-er

When Abbie was forced to learn how to ride a bike (she was four and Brad ran over her training wheels so ride two wheels or ride nothing)I agonized with her and ran up and down our driveway for what seemed like weeks until she got the hang of it. Amelia, being the deprived middle child, didn't get that love and attention from me. So she picked up the neighbors bike and Boom. Taught herself how to ride a bike. While I was doing the dinner dishes. I couldn't believe it. She's pretty bad a** if you ask me.

Sleepy Max

Will I ever grow tired of your sleeping face? I love when you crash nearly every afternoon how you sleep so hard that I can hold you and and smell your warm cheeks.

Preschool take 2

I decided to give Max another shot at the elective education in the form of preschool. He met with his teacher this week and seems to be much more game about the whole going necessity. Amelia had the same teacher so I have a better feeling that she knows what she's getting into Max-wise. I switched him to afternoon because boyfriend REAllY loves to be in his pajamas, and his other friends have afternoon school so he won't be feeling like he is missing out on anything. How did I get two lefties? Now my door will never open properly! That also means that Brad can take a late lunch or two during the week and maybe I can date my husband. Wouldn't that be novel?

How am I again?

Photo courtesy of Max. 1. When you looked at yourself in the mirror today, what was the first thing you thought? I need a haircut (and color) and I wonder if Brad's flex medical spending plan can somehow cover wrinkle cream and latisse. 2. Who is the 4th person on your missed call list on your cell phone? Brad. He was sitting at the airport waiting to be picked up. In a thunderstorm. oopsie. 3. What's a word you say alot. Super. As in not super. 4. Who told you he/she loved you last. Max. Right after he told me he doesn't wuv me anymore. Then I got him a drink of water. Now he loves me. Score. 5. Favorite age you have been so far. 27. no diapers, no mortgage, two incomes, 6. The last song you listened to. Kid History song. I made you a SMOOOOOOTHIE! 7. Your worst enemy. God's gold AKA butter. 8. Have you ever been involved in a food fight. All meals are a bit of a battle with Max don't you think? 9. Anywhere in the world you wish to be r...

Oblige

"TAKE MY PICTURE MOMMY HEDDER!" he yells and orders me. Its a good thing I love that popsicle stained boy.

Hillbilly Amelia

Time to go get that thar banjo and drink some moonshine. She done gone and swallar her tooth last night. (side story this is Amelia's third tooth she has lost. For some reason, the last two teeth she has lost turn blue before they come out. It is extremely distressing for me to look at. Brad made me promise to stop obsessing about the ugliness of the blue tooth but HELLO! school pictures are next week! I can't have that! So I would offer Amelia apples! chewy fruit leather! popcorn! whatever to get it out. Glad its out before the pictures.

Bravery

Max stared at this bug on the screen for a long time trying to gather the courage to reach out and touch it, which he did, while I screamed. Can't figure out why he has been stung by wasps (or wops sic as he calls them) this summer...

Fun while the poor little saps are in class

Man summer is a lot less hectic when there are less children to contend with!

Summer Swimming!

For the first time this year we have really been able to take advantage of how close we live to the PG pool. We purchased an odd day pass and have spent the summer swimming as much as our green hair can handle!

Everyday is Max Day!

Max is La-hoving! having me all to himself and the girls away at school. I thought for sure he would start to get a little bored, but the little dictator lays out the plans for the day like this: First, we color. A-hen, he play cars 2, a-hen you cwean da house, a-hen we eat more cereal, a-hen we go to the pool.

First Day of School for the Girls

I can't believe how big those back packs are on their bodies! Amelia is starting first grade with Mrs. Rogers Abbie excited to have Mrs. Clegg in the fourth grade In the bus line (while I was sobbing on the sidelines) And this picture is why I will never get a nice fancy camera. Sorry about your head Brad. Smiling in the sunshine with B. Amelia and Ava (members of the CTR club) Look at those beautiful girls!
