Max's First Day of School

Please ignore the dark socks, dark shoes look. We can say he was channeling the inner Grandpa Gary in him, but really his sandals, flip flops, and other shoes were in the backseat of the car sitting in the Mozy parking lot. So church shoes. My two sons. Horray for Anne and her mad shopping skills and securing a shirt for twinner twinner chicken dinner Max. Don't worry. I thought about that look all day long. Seems the "transition" preschool we had him in this summer didn't exactly prepare him enough to be away from his mama. Please. Enlarge the picture, then judge me as a horrible mom. One of my boys yelled "I love school!!" the whole way home. My other boy flopped on the ground and didn't speak to me for a half an hour. He phased out a little with DiDi and his Cars collection.

Max

Max: You go to school twice a week with your cousin Haze, and friends Isaac and Huke. I asked if you sit with them at circle time and you said, "No, I hike, Camdy". Much of your school experience has revolved thus far around your quest for "Camdy" and you reported that sometimes she says "Hey Max, heave me ahone". You love to play outside with your sister's friends Hogan and Be-entzy and Fatcher and they are very sweet to let you tag along (mostly). Your world still revolves very much around Cars and you switch from playing with the Piston Cup cars (he did what in a cup?) which includes replays of the crash scene with Leak Less, Shifty, Octane Gain, Spare O Mint and the more well known Cwick Hicks and Whitening McQueen and Mr. la Keen. You have seen the movie so many times you replay certain scenes over and over complete with your interpretation of the soundtrack. You also play Rabee-a-tor Speengs which includes Mia and Tia, Flo, Hank Halstrom, Ramon (...

A Sweet Memory kind of a Day

Kindergarten Assessment See looks so Tiny! If you see Angels circled around the boys its because I am a praying, faithful woman pleading with the good Lord not to have them pee in the hall way. I suppose I'm also a stupid and a gambling woman for taking barely potty trained boys out in public.

Max, A menace to the Deacons...

So do you remember this post about Max and the spilling of the sacrament water? http://motherofgeese.blogspot.com/2010/06/two-max-gems-for-record-books.html This Sunday he was playing with his cars during the sacrament on the floor. He decided to stretch out and get more comfortable with his legs in the aisle. (Captain Obvious asks if we all see where this is going?) Yep. He tripped a kid carrying the bread tray. Yep. The bread went everywhere and the kid was frantically trying to scoop it back into the tray. I literally have NEVER heard of this happening once but twice? Come on....Please. Tell me this happens regularly in other wards and not just mine with my kid.

Someone's Been Sleeping in MY BED

Goldilocks has been wandering from bed to bed lately trying to find the most comfortable situation. Addendum: I have had to put the old kybosh on the bed hopping situation when, after I assumed he was just sleeping in the girls room, he commit mass murder in Abbie's fish tank. There were no survivors and Abbie was heart broken. As far as the preliminary coroner's report reads, cause of death was a large introduction of foreign object most likely fish food, but perhaps windex. My money is on the windex.

The Terrible thing about being taken literally

I haven't been able to write about this traumatic event because I am still in shock over being taken literally and having the situation fixed so quickly. It was a typical Friday afternoon. I was in the kitchen (not showered or even really dressed properly to go out-read cleaning my house is a workout, I was in my sweaty nasty workout clothes). Abbie had just returned from a birthday party, and Amelia was laying on the couch watching iCarly. Max was asleep, Brad was in the basement working. Abbie shares her birthday wares including gum. (side note, I am not a gummer. I prefer mints, and the snapping and chewing make me want to vomit. Brad feels the same.) Gum is shared, but not kept in the mouth. Amelia comes downstairs crying because she has gum all up and around her hair. I say to Brad exasperated and overly dramatically, ugh, we are going to have to cut that out, AS I AM WALKING UPSTAIRS TO FETCH THE PEANUT BUTTER AND ICE. Without my prevailing upon him, he grabs my shears I USE ...

Sucka!

...Is what Max was calling me for leaving the bag of suckers on the counter. Rather than eat one at a time, homeboy thought he would take the more efficient route of two at a time... Root Beer dum dums are irrestible afterall.

Guess what I'm doing?

If you answered walking around with carpet cleaner you would be correct sir! The bribes...His love language is metal die cast with real rubber tires please.

It's Spa Day! A Day to Unwind!

To Celebrate the last full week of summer vacation I told the kids there would be no workbooks, or reading requirements, or restrictions on TV. They probably logged in enough TV to make up for the whole summer, but I didn't really mind. Especially when the girls were inspired by an episode of Phineas and Ferb to have a Spa Day for me. The spa day included hot foot soak, foot rub, manicure, shoulder massage, scalp (pound), and water with mint (leaves from neighbors bushes). The lights were low, and it was very relaxing.

Opening Activity: Dance with "Mawrv and Soren Lorenson" Games: "We honestly and promisely can look after your dawg" "Walkies with the egg" "This is actually my party" The food: "Moon squirters, orange twiglets from Jupiter, green drops, cloud fluff, ocean nibbles" Decorations: Pink, yellow, and orange.
