Heading to Portland

At break neck speed...

Boise

On the way to Boise we blew a tire on the trailer 90 miles outside. We were in the middle of nowhere. We dropped the trailer, checked into our hotel, woke up early and Brad went back to do trailer work and I stayed and swam with the kids. The thought it was the greatest!

the road trip begins...

It was 98 degrees and Bradfo would not let us have the AC. I was happy to share my sweaty arm pit designs with him, but eventually just decided to stick my head out the window dog like.

Father's Day Ribs

Max loves the ribs, but hates getting his hands dirty. Just one solution for him.... - Posted using BlogPress from my iPhone

Fish tacos

While our neighbors were out of town their freezer broke causing all their delicious halibut that was caught in Alaska to thaw. It had to be eaten so our family happily obliged!

So happy these are in bloom again! This was the size of a dinner plate.

Helicopter

The canyon near our house caught fire a few weeks ago. Luckily they were able to take care of it quickly. We took a drive to see if we could peak at the damage and instead dazzled the kids by running into the helicopter. The kids sat on the grass and were mesmerized by the blades It was a pretty great!

Max

A few days ago Max was distraught: Max: Daddy! I haven't had breakfast yet!! Brad: (throws arms in the air) YAY!! Max: Daddy! I'm hungry!! Brad: (throws arms in the air) YAY!! Max: (flopping on the couch) "I DID NOT EXPRESS THAT!"

Summer song 2012

The kids and I have a tradition every summer where we pick a song that we listen to everytime we leave the house on an adventure. It's called our "summer song". I have to be selective of the song because I know that I will be listening to this song several times a day but it also has to be fun, upbeat, and make us want to dance. I discovered this song a few weeks ago and knew that it would be perfect. Don't you want to go and make butter for your piece of bun now?

Lousy in little league

Max starts T-Ball! But we all know the real reason this boy comes to play. Reminds me a bit of this video don't you think? What's the score? Free snow cone! How many outs? Grape! Cherry!

Nerd Alert: the rare planetary spectacle

If you missed it, I suppose you could wait another 117 years. Good thing we caught it. Did you know Venus ecclipsed the sun? The weather was horrible so we couldn't use our own telescope. Good thing we could watch it on nasa.gov. Actually I sort of love that the kids were glued to the tv watching this once in a lifetime event. A view of Saturn from the telescope.

Abbie's find

Brad's other woman.

Brad went and bought himself a smallish trailer last fall. Sigh. It needed some work this winter. I know. It's tiny. And mostly empty. While he worked this winter the kids would come out and lend a hand.

Picnic with siblings. Aw yeah. It's on.

Chopped Liver

It is going to be a huge adjustment for me (and Max) to have the girlies home for the summer. We spend lots of time (read hours) snuggling and laughing on the couch but when Amelia is home I am akin to chopped liver. At least I have a few pictures to remember when I was number one.
